The "psychic" flew in from who knows where, called up my friend on stage and told him to think of three initials of someone significant in his life. Then the "psychic" guessed the initials.
Possibilities of my friend being a plant are zero. Possibility that the psychic flew in a team to research his personal information before the show? Probably zero also.

How was your friend selected? If it was by another person, that person could give clues to the "psychic" on stage by the way he introduced your friend (using specific phrases meant certain letters, etc.).
