Good roads and yes time is about 8 hours if you leave early morning. We usually leave by 5 am. Later, you will catch the truck traffic and the evening traffic in Bangalore. that takes up driving time considerably. Nice 'Dhabas' on the way too.

The distance is approx 530 Kms. The road is good. The time would depend on your average driving speed.
