"Disclosure" is a hollywood move which means they muddied the waters by having to give a reason she was harassing Michael Douglas -- get him out of the way.

Yes, I was sexually harassed in the Navy by someone who outranked me. He liked to touch all over. 30 years later I ran into the guy when I signed up for a dance class. He was now a dance teacher and it was legal for him to touch women. I had forgotten his name and all but then he made a particular movement of the head and it all came back. I quit the class.

Another time an employee who worked for me grabbed my *** while I was standing next to his desk. I just yelled at him to stop and not do it again.

I am a female who was attractive in her prime! I have never been sexually harrassed... but that may be because I feel that harrassment only occurs if you allow it. Those who are being harrassed need to stand up and assert themselves... most harrassers are cowards and don't wnat to deal with someone who can handle the problem.

What is sexual harrassment? I don't think it is a joke that makes you uncomfortable or a glance or even an attempted pass. To me, harrassment is what happens when someone doesn't or can't recognize that the "attempted" pass has been rebuffed or who continues the jokes after no one laughs. Sometimes people just have to suck it up and deal with it if they are in a situation that may tend to be "harrassing"... what do I mean by this? I don't have any sympathy for the woman who becomes a trucker and gets mad because the truckers make jokes... sorry, that is how men and truckers are and if you don't like it, don't become a trucker. People should be free to say pretty much what they want, whether you find it offensive or not.

sure. I think most people will experience this from time to time, and will have different reactions to it and may or may not be offended. When I was a teenager, I walked around alot, in the daytime, mind you. But old guys, (and young guys) would drive by and hollar nasty things. that was offensive then, but now i would just laugh.
And here's a good story, just for kicks if nothing else.
A couple months ago when it was still warm out, I rode my bike to the grocery store. Some guy drove up really slow beside me and was making this really nasty gesture with his hand (you can imagine) so I was grossed out, and turned my head and continued to wait to cross the street.
next thing I hear is a big crash. He smashed into the van in front of him, and was still quite close by. I laughed and laughed, but the best part (he was trying to avoid me, I could tell he was embarrassed, and he had to get out of his car and talk to this lady) ...the best part, was when I finally got to cross the street, he looked back at me and I flipped him the longest bird of my life, and grinned as wide as I could. pervert.
good luck with your work...

Sexual harassment is the basis for a court action ONLY ONLY ONLY if it happens in the workplace. (Being groped at a bar might be actionable as battery or assault, or being whistled at by construction workers might be actionable as negligent infliction of emotional distress, or having guys say that you're a slut may be actionable libel, but it's not "sexual harassment.")
Workplace "harassment" is only actionable if the harassment is based on Sex, Race, Age, Disability, National Origin, Religion, and in some places, sexual orientation. Just having a boss who's a jerk and humiliating isn't grounds for an employment related lawsuit. (That changes, of course, if the guy hits you, threatens you, etc. Then you have a cause of action for assault, battery, false imprisonment, etc., and you have a claim against your employer for "respondeat superior" (supervisor liability).)
("Hostile Work Environment," which is the most common form of sexual harassment, requires that the plaintiff prove prove that there is "extreme and pervasive" hostility BASED ON sex, race, religion, etc. to state a claim.)

I would be more than happy to offer my opinon on what harrassment is just as soon as someone gives a clear black and white legal definition of what harrassment is.

Yes, I had a co-worker that always stood really close to me, said nasty stuff to me, would try to massage my shoulders while I was typing and even followed me to my car one evening, stood between me and my door and explained how him and his wife were "swingers". I rudely pushed him away and shut my car door. A few days later my boss, who had heard some stuff and seen the car incident asked me if I wanted him to talk to him. I said no, but he must have said something because the pursuer did lay off. I was too chicken to officially report him as we worked for a government agency and it would have really snow balled. When I look back now I should have just been a butt and totally chewed him out and cut it off the very first time he tried it.

I had a doctor sexually harrass me. He grabbed me in my privates and told me to cough.

And I know it was sexual harrassment because I did not like it. thats how you tell, right? If you don't like it, it's sexual harrassment, and if you do, its ok.

Most companies consider any liaison between a higher level employee with a lower level employee a problem. It opens the company to sexual harassment lawsuits.

Yep, and it was harrassment from homosexuals. The old Gaydar should work both ways, but for some idiots, it doesn't. Talk about this to your group.
