You might be.
It's possible to get a false negative but not a false positive test.

Yes, I had two negative tests two weeks ago. I took one the day I should have gotten my period (First Response) and another one four days later (store brand). Both negative and still....no period after ten days. Finally decided to take another test on the tenth day. It was positive. Now, I'm 6 1/2 weeks pg.
But, last month, I thought I might be pg and had brown spotting for almost a week when I should have been having my period. Then I finally got a "real" period at the end of that week. I think it was stress because we had been trying to conceive and I REALLY wanted to be pg.
Best advice....wait a few more days (if you can stand it) and if you still don't have a period, take another test. If it's still negative, call the doctor to see if there might be another reason your period is late.

Yes it's possible for a pregnancy test to be negative early on even if you are pregnant. When pregnant you produce human chorionic gonadotrophin which is what a pregnancy test detects, if a pregnancy is ongoing then these levels will continue to rise. I'd try a test again in about a week. Brown spotting can be caused by an infection. If you continue to get brown spotting and more importantly associated abdominal pain then contact your GP who may do some tests such as swabs.

Home tests are incredibly accurate, so you are quite likely not pregnant. But you could try another one just to be sure. The other thing is that most women's periods aren't 100% regular, a few days isn't all that many to be late, there is still time. But if you still haven't got it in a few days maybe you should take a trip to the doctor. But don't get worried just yet. Good luck! xx

Yes. It is possible to get a false negative reading early in a pregnancy, when the pregnancy hormones haven't built up yet to high enough levels to be detectable by a home pregnancy test.
If you don't start menstruating in another 10-14 days, take another test. You may also want to make an appointment with your GYN or, if you don't have one, Planned Parenthood for a medical pregnancy test, pregnancy counseling, and birth control if you're not pregnant. Planned Parenthood might be able to hook you up for free.

I had pregnancy tests that were all negative in the days before shops sold pregnancy kits. Eventually the doc got exasperated with me turning up at his surgery insisting i was pregnant, and sent me to ante-natal. They said i was 4 months pregnant.
In another pregnancy, I had periods for 6 months (turned out to be twins). Absolutely anything can happen, there are no rules.

u might be pregnant or possibly just stressed by the thought of being pregnant. my sister did 5 pregnancy tests with her last child, three of which were done ny the doctor and all came back negative. she only found out through a blood test. it is possible to have FALSE NEGATIVES, but remember you DONT get false positive results.

I remember I started[my first one] and had a period for 3 months, then nothing for 6 months..But I didn't do anything to be pregnant..Doctor said my insides hadn't matured as fast as my outside..
When I was pregnant with my son,I tested for the entire 9 months as "not" being pregnant..Then one day at work I got sick and the e.r. doc said I was pregnant. He even said he ran the test twice..LOL Boy did he look funny when I told him I could never have children.
So, you see, test aren't always accurate. They are sometimes based on our hormonal levels..my two positive test were because I was going through menopause and my hormones levels were the same as a positive pregnant woman's.
Just wait a little longer.if you are, you will have other signs too.

its still a possiblity. pregnancy tests show positive when a certain amount of a hormone is detected. the further pregnant you are the more of it is in your body so if you are pregnant you might have better luck in a few days time. this happend to me with my first baby
