has anyone had an umbilical hernia and still be able to have a safe pregnancy? i think i may have an umbilical hernia .....and i am pregnant. I have a son already so i think i got the hernia from my previous pregnancy but now i can't have surgery if im pregnant? i don't know maybe im just being paranoid. But the hernia-if it even is one- doesnt hurt or cause me any discomfort.
I was just wondering if it is possible to have a umbilical hernia and still be able to carry a pregnancy without complications!

I have one that became present after my 3 pregnancy. I went on to have two other pregnancies without any problems. My Drs say as long as it isn't causing me problems they see no need to fix it.

2 of my 3 kids had this as a child. I was told that they usually fix themselves, but then it may come back out when you get pregnant. The dr. said that it is fine and the girls will have no problems from it. Don't worry. It will probably fix itself after the birth is over.

I had one as well which didn't present a problem during pregnancy. It, however, did not "fix itself" afterwards but required minor surgery to repair it.
