I am on the pill.. I USUALLY take it around the same time every night. I have been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend... I had my period two months ago normally... then last month I was 4 days late getting my period which ended up lasting a whole 3 days with light bleeding. My normal period is about 5 and HEAVY! I kept taking my pills and having unprotected sex, and now a week and a half later Im having a full blown period again!?!?! Whats wrong could I be pregnant? was it just because I havent been very good with taking my pills on time?

I believe you should have scheduled your intake in the morning and stayed on that regimen, now the only thing to do is to make an appointment with your doctor so that other serious problems can be ruled out and let him know the whole truth on how you were using your pills so that you can get the proper diagnoses.

No, you could not be pregnant. It's impossible to menstruate while pregnant (unless you are the rare case with two uteruses, but let's not go there).

Some variation in menstruation is not unheard of, even while on the pill. If your bleeding only starts during that fourth week of pills in your case, and not during the three weeks of active pills, then you're probably fine.

But (there's always a "but"), if you are taking a prosterone-only minipill with no estrogen component, then they MUST be taken at the same time every day without fail, or they will start to lose effectiveness. Then when you do take one, you're basically monkeying around with your hormone levels and that can cause your uterus to react strangely to the combination of hormones that are present. And you can get pregnant in between doses if they are too far apart.

Estrogen/progesterone combo pills give you a little more leeway, but they should still be taken close to the same time every day.
