Don't go on The Pill until you are sure you aren't pregnant. While not always 100% accurate, some of the more sensitive home pregnancy tests can be used as early as one day past a missed period. A pregnancy test using a blood sample can be done 6-8 days after ovulation. Your doctor can perform this test before prescribing birth control pills. It has been 9 years since I have been on birth control pills and I am sure there are some different types now, but the ones I am familiar with you had to begin taking the first birth control pill on the Sunday after your period starts. So, if you don't have a period, have a pregnancy test done. If you do have a normal period, chances are slight that you are pregnant and can start the Pill on the Sunday after.

NO! Do Not take anything until you find out if you are pregnant. If you think you are pregnant, but still want to take the pill....does this mean that you do not want to be pregnant? Maybe you need to see a doctor anyways so they can enlighten you on all birth control.

if you think that you are pregnant you should not start the pill until you know for sure. IF you are already on the pill you need to continue taking them until you find out for sure that you are pregnant.

in order to get put on the pill they should give you a pregnancy test. i would not start taking the pill until i was sure that you are not pregnant. the doctors make you start right after your period so if you are pregnant than you wont be starting them anytime soon, if you are not then you have to wait until you start your period.

No! You need to confirm that you are not pregnant before using any medication.
If you want to start the pill, the doctor will give you a test before giving it to you anyway.

you should get a pregnancy test first...why would you even want to risk causing harm to your unborn baby? It hasn't been proven that the Pill does, but that doesn't mean it doesn't.
