For the last two years the media has been not just reporting the mews but influencing the way people think to a shocking level. The media has gotten out of hand with its irresponsibility.
Obama is a very good speaker, but his two years in the Senate have been spent rubber stamping the party line. And he disappointed me by starting with the Bush bashing. Once again a promising politician plays to the lowest common denominator.
The media has decided you are unhappy with Bush. The media has decided you are unhappy with the war. The media played up and blew out of proportion GOP scandals while ignoring the Democratic scandals, one of which includes a felon who was recently reelected with the media's blessing.
No offense to Mr Obama but anything the media favors warrants extra scrutiny.

The Media? no, not so much. the thing is that he became a sensation after an address at the democratic national convention In 2004. People are taken with him because he has a clear vision and idea for the US, and he's a minority, and he would be the first non- white male president of the US- if he can do that, he makes history.
He's also still a Washington outsider, despite being a senator.
He's also clean ethics wise, and well, signifies to people everything that's RIGHT with politics in America. He's already become the first Non- white male senator since reconstruction, why not President?

Why not? They have carried the anti-republican message all this time, predicted huge landslides in favor of democrats (but it was actually much narrower---and unreported). They don't give people "facts" or just entertain, they "TELL" people what to think, which is apparent if you compare CNN "viewer opinion polls" with random "on the street" polling. We live in an age of instant propaganda. Do you remember hearing that Darfur is a civil war, no different than Iraq "may" become, but we must go there ASAP and give both sides someone to shoot at? Where are all those big brave critics of the USA that strut around saying they can take us militarily? Why aren't THEY solving Darfur's problems with wonderful UN guidance? Obama will be just a puppet or figurehead in office, maybe more so (and perhaps better so) than any regular President is these days. I know one thing for fact I would not want to be President with Hilary as VP because there'd be a bullseye on your back and you might be the next one they find draped over a cannon in the park, with gun of wrong calibre clutched in your hand and no pull of blood, like Vince Foster. (Only Hollywood believes a person can hold a gun in defiance of gravity after death and before rigamortis---but I'm trying to make it sound like there was a conspiracy or something?) More important is do the republicans have a clue as to where or who their candidates will be? We don't want just our version of Obama either, I used to think Pataki might be running for it, but he's so far left that only the lefties could believe he was an evil neo-con.

While I wouldn't necessarily say that inexperience disqualifies him for the presidency (Jesse Helms and Ted Kennedy are "experienced", but I wouldn't vote for them), I agree that Obama is getting a lot of hype, especially for someone who hasn't officially declared that he's running.
But he is a pretty exciting candidate, compared to the field, and the media doesn't have anything else political to report on these days. So they over-hype a political horse race that hasn't even come close to beginning yet. I blame slow news days more than any media conspiracy to get Candidate Whomever elected.

He says it best though " I'm suspicious of hype and you should too"
Don't do him any favors by agreeing blindly with what the media serves you... study him, follow him closely and see what he's all about.
I on the contrary don't believe that he says what people want to hear, that's what all the politicians do and we see through their bluff. He actually is pretty refreshing in the fact that he humbles himself and does not portray himself as a supergod who will fix our problems once we elect him.

It sounds to me like you're a little paranoid? Huh? I say that because you obviously have NO IDEA of the man's accomplishments, or you're scared to admit that he's much more experienced then most uniformed people say? So far, the reports I've read make him an excellent nominee for Pres. He's got my vote!
By the way, George Bush already gave the White House back to the Democrats.........

It certainly appears that way. He's so inexperienced that he's a blank slate with very little to criticize and people are looking for a savior.
If he's nominated I don't think he'll be elected president because we need someone with experience.

eff Greenfield of CNN is trying to convince me not to vote for Obama --
On Monday, December 11th, 2006, Jeff Greenfield of CNN was able to tie Obama with Osama (Bin Laden) because the trwo names sounded similar. Yes, that's the similarity Greenfield was able to show between the two.
Jeff Greenfield was also able to tie Obama with the Iranian President Ahmedinijad. For proof, he showed two separate pictures of Obama and Iranian President where they wear coats without ties. Yes, that's the similarity Greenfield was able to show between the two.
There you go. CNN took the position against Obama.
