Crazy like a fox. He knows how to grab attention to make the box office numbers. He knows that controversy sells, and America loves to forgive celbrities. He's brilliant.

It is not a super violent movie about human sacrifice in pre-columbian South Africa. Its about the Mayan civilisation which existed around 1000 BC.

It might be as inaccurate as Braveheart or as gory as the Passion but he seems to have decent historical ideas behind his movies. Its supposed to be a representation of the Mayan culture. That doesn't make him crazy.

The man has really pushed the envelope to the limits to any kind of viewing pleasure in the film industry. Is he in his right mind or better yet does he have one? I think he is a little schizo myself and maybe a little psycho too. He is an alcoholic and it does have devastating effects on one's mental abilities or lack thereof.

Mel needs some serious down time to reflect on what he is presenting to the global community and if we are at all interested in that subject matter and the manner in which it is presented. It's all very sad and disturbing.

As an actor, he was one of the greatest but as a producer and writer, he is the worst. He has shown us all a side of him that is quite disturbing. Hopefully, we will all remember what a truly great actor he is and try to forget his attempts at producing and writing. We all can't be Clint Eastwoods and Robert Redfords.

no he's not crazy if you mean he should be locked in a mental institution - he just has an addiction that affects his personality and since he is wealthy celebrity with controversial projects he has made - those faults are blasted all over the media - time and again - research what really happened to native americans after the europeans arrived in their world for more real life apocalypse -

All brilliant people are insane to some degree because they don't fit the mold for the rest of society. Does that mean we should disregard their works? Of course not. It means we have the opportunity to see the world through the eyes of someone on a different level of consciousness and thus raise our own awareness to a new level.

Sure, he's crazy...which could probably be said of 99.5% of people who make films for a living.

What's your point?
