Other security programs can make these changes as well. On such program is spywareblaster. It is a excellent program to have.

Download SpywareBlaster---http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html

SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed.

It's main features include:
- Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
- Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
- Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

Is it possible you have spyware on your computer, that could be the culprit..Make sure you have scanned for spyware and remove any intrusions

all are freeware:

the only thing that i can suggest is to restore the system. which takes the system back to a date where it was working properly.. Control panel...performance and maintence... on the left hand side it will say system restore. click on that and another box will come up. Then you have options on what date you want the pc/laptop to restart from........

hope that helps
