Jill Marie Jones, who played Toni on "Girlfriends" will be returning to the show after finishing a film she is currently in production with, called "The Perfect Christmas", which also stars Queen Latifah and Terrence Howard as well as Morris Chestnut, Rachel True and Gabrielle Union.
In May of 2006 it was confirmed that Jones had left Girlfriends, presumably over a contract dispute.
I'm looking forward to seeing her back on the show because without her character, it is a little dismal. I hope they improve on her role instead of making her out to be a less than successful woman that she had started out as when the show first aired.

Jill Marie Jones quit the show to pursue an acting career. When WB and UPN merged to launch CW, it wasn't clear if Girlfriends would stay on the air. Jones asked for more money, was denied it, and left the show. Also, I heard talk that the executive producers tried to coax her back with more money, but she still refused.

thats funny. She left to start and acting career. What was she doing on the show? Playing herself? And we have seen her in what since? Sounds like a female David Carusso. Give her 8 years and maybe she will be on one of the hottest shows on tv like he is now. CSI Miami

Ive seen her in a lot of commercials (I cant remember what they were advertising) I havent kept up w/ the latest Girlfriends...maybe she left to pursue other things.

they wrote her out he show, I miss he character but the show is still funny. It will be nice if they can bring her back, later in the series.

I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING WHEN I WATCHED IT LAST NIGHT. I DONT KNOW .I GUESS IT WOULD DEPEND ON WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LAST EPISODE SHE WAS IN.I DIDNT SEE THAT ONE ,MAYBE SHE WENT TO FRESNO.SHE WAS ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT GOING BACK
