I asked this same question when I planned to go on a day coach trip to France with less than 3 months left on my passport and was told it would not be a problem. If you are flying the best thing to do is to phone the airline and check with your tour operator as well before committing to buy. Also telephone the French Embassy for more advice on this as I'm sure they can clarify the situation for you.

Not clear from your question where you are. If you in the UK and an EU citizen, the only requirement is that your passport is valid for the duration of your stay. If you are from outside the EU, you will only get a definitive answer from the French authorities,. Try your nearest consulate of the Foreign Ministry website

To be absolutely sure, check with the nearest French Consulate. But this might be a good time to renew your passport, not many people renew them in December. That would automatically remove the problem/question.

good question! the guideline of thumb is for you to have a minimum of 6 months on your passport ultimate AFTER the final day of your trip. (So, in case you're going for one month you ought to have 7 months until your passport expires.) the situation is which you under no circumstances comprehend what would desire to ensue once you're there and you would be able to would desire to stay contained in the rustic longer than predicted. of direction in France this probable won't ensue, yet once you would be able to desire to be admitted into emergency or the rest, you would be able to would desire to stay longer. i might renew the passport previously leaving. (in case you're contained in the US, do it now - it may take 3-6 months recently to resume.) yet, all that stated, in case you're leaving quickly and have adequate time on your passport to conceal your trip, it incredibly is probable no longer a super deal. you will nevertheless be allowed in and distant places. it incredibly is in simple terms no longer beneficial.

I don't believe you can, call the airline or French consulate to be sure, but I think it must be valid for 6 months beyond your travel date.
