A stomach virus can last days or a good week. First of all, you are eating all the wrong foods. Junk food is NOT what you should be eating. If you are having a lot of "diarrhea" then you need to be on what is called the BRAT diet. That junk food causes more diarrhea. B= Banana R= Cooked white rice A=Applesauce T= Dry toast If the diarrhea comes & goes, stick to a diet of clear liquids/no soda: (1)Chicken soup broth (2)Jello or jello water (that's when you make the jello but don't refrigerate it. Store it in a plastic bottle) (3)Ginger Ale served at room temp (4)Sip water that is also room temp (5)Warm tea, & no sugar added Stay on these foods/drinks & you will at least be able to keep your strength up somewhat, because you'll be getting some nutrition If the diarrhea persists even when eating the above mentioned foods/liquids, have someone get you some Immodium AD....it WILL stop the diarrhea. Stay on the BRAT until the diarrhea is gone, then switch to the broths, etc. Keep your hands washed often, & rest!!!!!! Feel better soon. :)

Viruses have a life span in the body of about 5-7 days. Although the effects can last closer to 10. Depending on the virus.

My four month old just had one last week. She only threw up for half a day and had no diahrea. It took her about a week to resume her normal eating habits. This was a quick one. Some of the viruses can last way longer. Just depends on the strain and your baby's immune system.
I gave a small amount of pedialyte every twenty minutes, and when she threw up I was told to wait an hour before giving anything. (any time sooner would just cause whatever she drank to come back up.) This really helped her to stay hydrated. Viruses stink...hope your baby feels better.

True gastrointestinal viruses generally run their course in 1 to 2 days, but there's lots of flus and other bugs that cause GI symptoms that can last up to a week.

usually only 24 hours. If it lasts longer then you could be dehydrated. When you can tolerate fluids, drink gatorade or some sports drink
