I drank lots of tea (ginger or peppermint). I also ate a lot of saltines. Ginger ale is good to drink too.
I read that someone was suggesting compazine. I had a really bad adverse reaction to that med so I would tell you to be aware. It's not good for everyone. Compazine gave me lock jaw!!! I had to be rushed into the ER and they had to flush my body of it. It was horrible!!!
Good luck and congrats!

Try drinking ginger-ale, 7-up, or Sprite. You can also keep a package of saltine crackers in your purse to eat when you start to get nauseated. Keep hydrated as this can help keep you from having to go to the hospital. I used ginger root capsules to help neutralize the nausea before it started. Some people have sworn by eating Tums but I can't speak from experience on that one.

Peppermint definately helps. You can get "Sea Bands" from Longs or Walgreens (in the same aisle as the motion sickness medicine). There is a pressure point on your wrists that helps relieve nausea. These bands will apply pressure in the right spot.

There's a few things you can try. (I've had 6 kids, and different things worked with different pregnancies). You can try having a few crackers by your bedside and eating them before you get up. Also mint tea worked with one of my kids. What causes it is the pregnancy hormone causes a bitter stuff (how scientific--haha) in your stomach, and the crackers absorb it. Also important to eat several small meals during the day....an empty stomach makes it worse. Also stay away from strong smells/tastes...they tend to make it worse as well.

I had that metalic flavor in my mouth that was adding to my nausiated feeling. My Dr told me to try altoids to get rid of the flavor and it helps with the sick feeling.
Worked for me, wish I knew about it earlier.
