The national U.S. average for IVF is $12,000.00. Each couple and each treatment can be different though. Be sure to check with your insurance carrier before any procedure because they sometimes will cover a portion of it. For example, my insurance paid for my medication but not the procedure. Be hopeful though; if you haven't been to see a doctor yet, you may not need IVF. There are several other treatments that couples can try in order to acheive a pregnancy.
You should definitely get that 'knot' checked out by a doctor. It may not be a fertility issue at all. It could be something else.

As to the first question, you can expect to pay at least $16,000 each time you do a round of IVF. Since there is no guarantee that the first time will be successful, you may have to do several rounds before you become pregnant.
As to this "knot," my best advice would be to see a doctor about it and have the proper testing done. This is your health and life and strange growths or "knots" are signs that it is time to see a doctor about them. Hope this helps.

It can get very expensive. I would call around and price different clinics. I have heard it being as cheap as $7,000 to $12,000 with out meds. But before you go down the IVF path make sure that is your only option. There maybe another problem that can be treated. IVF should be the last resort.

IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI, ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is have become very common now. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.
My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
Many patients travel from United States of America and UK to get low cost surgery in India. Indian corporate hospitals are comparable to hospitals anywhere in the world. In fact, India has medical facilities that are comparable with the USA, UK and Canada. India offers World Class Medical Facilities, comparable with any of the western countries. India has state of the art Hospitals and the best medical experts. With the best infrastructure, the best possible Medical facilities, accompanied with the most competitive prices, you can get the treatment done in India at the lowest prices

Check your policy. My sister - nothing was covered. For me - drugs were covered. In some states, its mandatory to cover IVF.
I mean, assume you'r epaying yourself, but ask!
I'd guess 12k with drugs is a better estimate. I believe there is a clinic in the US that for 30k will give you up to 6 cycles (assuming they are not working).
I've also heard of people going out of country. Apparently in the UK, its not uncommon to have IVF done in poland or something. Worth considering.
