Monday through Thursday should be khakis or dress pants with a long-sleeved dress shirt and a tie. On casual Friday, if casual Friday is observed in your building, you can wear a Polo shirt with khakis (or a sweater and turtleneck/mock if you have a cold winter). General rules of thumb are: (1) No jeans, unless you're doing physical labor like moving computers/servers, (2) Ditto that for athletic shoes, and (3) You should always wear a shirt with a collar.

There is a old saying that the best way to dress appropriately is to dress like your boss. In a medical facility, I would take note of the chief administrators office. Note how they dress and follow suit (no pun intended)
My advise is to go classic and go quality. There are so few options in menswear that the more subtle issues such as fit finish and fabric really matter.
Stay with natural fibers wool, cotton, silk. If you are sartorial novice then don't get to edgy. Go to a good department store or mens clothing store where they offer custom fittings. Let the tailors do their job in measuring you properly, and find a good sales person there. He (they are mostly men) can help you develop a wardrobe, and overall look that will be be appropriate, look good and make you feel good in it.

Dress shirts, ties, nice dress pants are classics. In colder months put on a sweater. All these say professional but laid back. SOMETIMES a suit jacket is a little too much, but then again it depends on your personality. Suits always give a nice look, but I would still suggest the more laid back approach (mentioned above).

Wear a suit, long sleeve button down shirt, tie. You don't always need to keep the jacket on, but most of the time you should. Never loosen your tie or roll up your sleeves unless the AC breaks down. You can roll up your sleeves if you need to do physical work as well.
