The main problem with pure unfettered Capitalism is that it depends entirely on exploiting one or more sets of people to benefit another. Example is that previously here in the U.S. we used to exploit the poor with low wages to make the goods that the Rich bought and used. As time went by and the Unions were able to garner more strength and gains in wages and living standards for the factory workers and such here, our standard of living rose to where not enough people were willing to work for the super low wages. That is why industries such as textiles have mostly moved overseas as they are now exploiting even cheaper labor over there to make the T-shirts and stuff that we buy at Wal-Mart. All this works fine for us and other "developed" countries, and can probably continue for some time, However the day is going to come when we simply run out of folks to exploit and there will be no one willing to do our work. Ghandi said it best when he said that "There was no way that 200,000 British could control 200,000,000 Indians if the Indians simply sat down and refused to work". Was the method he used to take back India from the British thorugh non-violent means and I suspect that similar methods will come to pass in foreign countries at some point in years to come. While I am not for abolishing capitalism as it fosters creativity, ingenuity, and progress as well as individuality, I am totally against the "Mega Corporations" taking control of the marketplace. "No" corporation out there has any humanity based in it as being a corporation and not a "company" it is a self-fulfilling entity solely based on maximum profits and returns for the shareholders. Has no other guiding influence. We see evidence of this everyday in the news about layoffs, outsourcing, and discoveries of sweatshops in the jungles of asia, etc.

Far from being barbaric and inhuman, capitalism is the only economic system that respects human freedom. Everything is voluntary in capitalism. No one tells you what jobs you will do, where you will live, how much you will make, etc.

Capitalism allows people to prosper, or fail, based on their life choices. Those that choose to be educated, work hard, and make smart decisions prosper. Those that choose otherwise, do not.

Capitalism is what allows you to use this forum, for free I might ad, to spread your bilge! The poor and the middle class are far more prosperous in capitalist nations, then in communist nations. Or are you under the delusion that all is rosy in countries like North Korea and Cuba.

Even communist countries like China and Vietnam have given up on communism. They've switched to capitalism and their people are prospering rapidly.

You want to talk about oppression and slavery. Try looking into the millions who were killed in communist nations last century, and the millions more sent to gulags, mental institutions, re-education camps, etc. Try looking into the constant shortgages of consumer goods and food that communist nations endured.

Do yourself a favor and read either Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlett or Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell to understand why capitalism works. They are primers on basic economics written for the everyman.

Employees create the value of the investment; the rich are the hired help. Humans have a slave instinct; that's why they worship the Wall Street vampires.
