Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make home-made Christmas ornaments? I love beads, glitter and anything that sparkles and shines... This is my first year in my new house and I thought it would be cute to make many of the Christmas ornaments, but I'm not very arts-n-crafty so I'm not sure where to start....

Clear glass ornaments are always my favorite. There are so many different things you can do with them. You can buy regular acrylic paint, take off the ornament top, squirt different colors of paint inside, put the top back on, and shake it up. It creates a neat, tye-dye type look. You can open the top and fill the ornament with random things, such as sparkly holiday colored pom-poms, glitter, sequins, or feathers. As a cute decorative top, get some thin wire, cut about a 5 inch piece, wrap it around the top hoop, and attach a small item to the wire that coordinates with the inside, such as the things I mentioned to put on the inside. You can even make these personal by using Puff paint to write your name on the outside. These are very cute and inexpensive. You can find all the supplies you need at a store such as WalMart, or any craft store. Good luck and congrats on your new house!

You can buy stirofoam for starters at Wal-Mart, K-mart or any craft store, you apply the glue and add your beads, ribbons, and glitter. They make really pretty ornaments. I have done a few myself throughout the years. I still have them.. Merry Christmas!

heres a perfect idea that i did. go to your local craft store and purchase some clear bulbs[different sizes if they have them] and purchase some popperii and some ribbon. i like the cinnamon spice pouperii. well any ways after you have purchased these items you would want to take the bulbs and the popperii and break up the popperii and carefully stuff the popperii in the bulbs and then hot glue a ribbon bow on the bulbs. and thats it. they make your house smell nice and they look pretty and you can also give them as a gift for some one to hang on their tree. i still have the bulbs i made and they still have their scent from 6 yrs ago. maybe you can try that.

something that i do every year is make popcorn ball ornaments...they smell delicious! heres how u make them. Ingredients: Small popcorn ball (one for each person) Mini candy canes Colored sugar Frosting Mini M&Ms Instructions: You'll need a small popcorn ball for each person Use a wooden skewer to poke a small hole in the top, snap the end off of a mini candy cane to create a point, and gently press the sharp end of the cane into the popcorn ball far enough to make a loop, as shown. For the sugar dots and lines, pour colored sugar onto a flexible paper plate (the flexibility makes it easy to pour the extra sugar back into the container when you're done). Fill a pastry bag with frosting, or scoop frosting into a quart-size plastic bag and cut off one corner. Working on one dot or line at a time, pipe frosting thickly onto the ball, then press the ball gently into the sugar so that only the frosting touches it. Use frosting to glue mini M&Ms to the ball.

take some long pins with colored heads on them, place some beads on them, leaving 1/2 inch at end. Dip the point in tacky glue, and insert into a small (1 inch or less) styrofoam ball. Fill the ball with these, and they will sparkle. You can put sequins on them, too.

any ornaments. (-; ?
you can try to make some figures and bedight it with brocade. you can do it from gypsum (you can buy) or make a thing like this : you mix the same amount of floor and salt and you add a littpe bit of water. try to add as little as you can and try to form a "cake" then make figures of it and leave 'em to dry. after that (about a week) you can paint them. Beautiful for present and ornament! (i have already made an angel :D)

You can get clear glass ornaments at Michael's Craft store and decorate them with lace, beads and other decorations using a hot glue gun.

Go to crafts store to buy some glass balls. Then fill some beads inside the balls.

And you can also get some foam balls and glue some glitters on them.

for garland around the tree: take old looking rope (the kind that looks frayed), string it around the tree, then draw little hands, bells, christmas trees, etc. on felt, cut them out and using wood clothes pins hang them on the string around the tree. it gives the tree an old timey look and if you have kids this is a wonderfull way to involve them in decorating.
