If your baby finishes the bottle, always mix a little more and offer it. Let them go until they don't want any more. Supposedly, children can self-regulate their calorie intake until the age of 2, so you shouldn't worry about overfeeding. Also, remember to always discard what's left in a bottle after a feeding if it's been warmed. That does mean that you should be tossing a little bit of formula at every feeding, but you'll get pretty good at guaging, most of the time.
You can try to give him 6oz, but he may not take it all, and at 3 months he should be eating roughly every 2.5-3 hours, so you may get a little more time but probably not too much. Good luck!

I asked my doctor when I could start upping the amount and he said that I could try feeding her more and that the worst that could happen would she would spit it back up. My baby is on a feed on demand schedule. My doctor said that routines should not be put into place til about 4 months of age and that your baby will naturally just form one of his or her own. I did read somewhere that your baby should eat in oz half of his or her weight. So if your baby weighs 10 pounds, they should eat 5 0z per feeding. But the best bet is to let your baby decide how much or little they want to eat.

You can do whatever he wants!!!!
I had this problem with my son..... I would give him 4oz during the day and he kept on crying like after a half hour....
It won't hurt to up it and see how he does.. he will stop when hes full! And if he drinks it all, then he does, if he doesn't, then go back to the 4oz.
Let him show you what he wants :)
Good luck!
(not sure that he would eat every 3-4 hours..... but there might be a longer span between feedings...)

I'd try that; (switching from 4 to 5oz to start then 6oz) he shouldn't be eating every two hours unless he's breastfed or so i'm told, so sounds like he wants other things to do than waste his time eating a full meal! my daughter's the same way though... also burping him a little more often might help him make some room; congratulations on the baby boy!!

if he is eating 2 hrs after a bottle i think he isnt getting enough during that feeding, i let my boys eat what they needed, you should put 8 oz. in a bottle and let him eat until he is full and then look at the bottle to see how much is left then you will know how much to give him during his next feeding, if he drinks 7 1/2 oz. then maybe next feeding try him on that again,, sometimes babys just eat different amounts at different times, my son eats more before he goes to sleep at nite. good luck

just feed him whatever he wants I watch my 3 month old nephew and he is the same way, he ate 6oz this morning and only 4 the next bottle. Maybe go with 5 every feeding and see how he does. If that is your baby in your profile he is adorable.

If he finishes the 4 oz's he can probably take a little more. Just try it. If he don't finish the 4 oz bottle, he wont take 6.

If he is still hungry after eating a 4 oz bottle then yes up it, but if he is not then he is fine for now. You don't want to overfill him, then he would have a stomach ache and not be in a good mood.

It depends on the child. I have a 3 month old and she gets cereal in her formula now. Normally, you should wait about 4 months for the cereal but my little girl is growing so fast and just the formula alone is not enough for her anymore. Ask your child's pediatrician. He/she can give you the best advice.

Yes. That would be fine. If he is still sucking when he finishes his bottle, he's ready to take a little more at each sitting. By increasing the amount he takes each time, it will extend his sleeping time and you'll have some more time to yourself. I increased my 3 mo. old's bottles (per doctor's orders) and now she sleeps 12 hours at night!!
