Well cultural pressures can be hard, but don't forget this is America and they can't force you. You might piss them off, but oh well, that's life, YOUR life. Then again, I do know alot of people who have very successful relationships that were arranged, so think about it and talk to people you know before you make a decision. Also, your parents sent you to college for a reason, maybe you can buy some more time by telling them you want to get your career going before you get married. Good luck!

Then DONT, it is your life which will go on beyond your parents hopefully. So, make a stand, concentrate on a career first and when you are ready to marry you will know yourself and you will know also who to, as that special feeling will happen when it is meant to and not before

You know your plan, stick with it. Don't let the parents decide the marriage thing for you. If you can support yourself then go live your life and have some fun before you settle down.

Arranged marriages are outdated!!!!!!!! Marry someone you can't live without, not someone your PARENTS want you to live with because he proposes a huge dowry or has lots of money. That is sooooooooooooooo barbaric.........DON'T DO IT!!!! The guy will think that he OWNS you and you are to obey his every command!!!!!!!! Not a way to spend your life......

YES, I UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL. THERE IS A BIG POSSIBILITY THAT YOU DON'T LIKE EACHOTHER?! THAT WOULD BE A LIVING HELL! EVERYBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO BE HAPPY AND TO FIGHT FOR HIS/HER HAPPINESS! YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT IS THE BEST FOR YOU!MAYBE STAND UP AGAINST YOUR PARENTS, BUT RISKING TO LOSE THEIR SUPPORT. IF THEY ARE NOT SO FANATICALLY INTO THAT CRAP WITH THE PRE-ARRANGED MARRIAGES, MAYBE YOU COULD TALK TO THEM AGAIN AND EXPLAIN HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT ALL THAT,TELL THEM THAT TIMES ARE DIFFERENT NOW AND THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE YOUR OWN CHOICES.
IT MAY HELP. I HOPE THEY UNDERSTAND, BUT IF THEY DON'T- BETTER THINK OF A WAY TO MOVE OUT OF THEIR HOUSE AND SEEK YOUR OWN HAPPINESS. SOONER OR LATER THEY WILL ACCEPT AND RESPECT YOUR DECISIONS.

And this is in the U.S.? No one can force you to marry in the states. They may "try" and force their will but until you sign the marriage license it can't happen. I would finish school and hit the road.

YOUR RIGHT ON HOW YOU THINK. OF COURSE WE WANT TO RESPECT OUR PARENTS. BUT THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THEY DON'T KNOW WHATS BEST FOR US. YOU HAVE A GOOD HEAD ON YOUR SHOULDERS. LIVE LIFE TO THE FULL. ONCE YOUR MARRIED THREES ALOT OF THINGS YOU CANT DO. YOU STILL HAVE ALOT OF TIME BEFORE YOU SHOULD SETTLE DOWN. BE FREE

It may sound old fashioned BUT, talk to your parents. If you do NOT tell them how you feel how will they know??? Once you are an adult you can marry or NOT when and if you choose to do so. You parents will have to trust that they raised you to do what is best for you and that you know what that is. GOOD LUCK!!
