Actually his full name is Kermit Frederick Cornelius T James The Frog. But he shortened it for show biz sake.

Either his name is like Madonna and its just Kermit and since he is a frog they say the frog, like you didn't know or yes his middle name is the and his last name is Frog. If it is his middle name then why don't they call him Kermit T. Frog. I think his name is Kermit and they think we are stupid so they have to tell us he is "The frog."

I think that "the" is a title kinda like Alexander "the" Great. He was great, he wasn't a great. They would have to distinguish his name as Kermit T. Frog
