the name of tha cable is "S-Video out cable"...
in the market there are 2 types of s-video cables....
-->5 pin
-->7 pin

theres no difference between the 2 cables except for the fact that most ati (onboard) videos cards require the 7 pin and the nvidia require the 5 pin....
(this is frm what i have seen...)

Depends on what connector you have coming out of the laptop and what connector you have going into the TV. Usually the out of the computer is either RCA or S-video. The input into the TV is usually RCA. You will also need a cable to go from the computers headphone jack to the TV audio jack if you want sound.

it depends on the card in the lap top. the outputs can be DVI, SVID, RCA(a/v) or VGA/SVGA.

update for your additional comments:

With that picture thats a 7 pin S vid, You can buy them just about anywhere Walmart, Radio shack etc. When you hook it up you usually have to change the input setting on the tv, Line in/AV/Video , that depends on the tv its easy to do. You will also need to adjust the monitor settings on your lap top. (usually 640x480) tv's are alot lower in resolution then compute monitors.
