Seriously, This site is home to some of the most challenged people I have ever seen anywhere on the net. Its the same questions asked over and over by people to incompetent to properly query a search engine. "How cen I git 2 myspace at scl?" "i think i have a virus NTLDR,plz help!!!!!!" "wats teh best way 2 dwnld free music?"
These questions are then (typically) answered by people who are just as clueless & uninformed, who post the same ridiculous solutions over and over, or best case scenario, copy and paste something of semi-relevance.
This site should be advertised on the side of small, yellow buses everywhere.
With a couple of exceptions, It's like the dumb leading the dumb.
Formerly, AOL users had the dubious distinction of being the most ignorant group of people on the internet, but this site is passing that legendary moronic user base in leaps and bounds.
Go ahead, report me. WTH, I think I'll report myself.

How about the mistakes of nature that can't even a ask question at all? I'm talking about the ones that post these kind of gems, "Google?", "DSL?", "Microsoft Word?". They think that putting a question mark at the end makes it a question.
Terry Semel has ruined Yahoo. He's turned it into the new AOL. (that's what happens when you go after the low hanging fruit)

When you ask a question, it gives you a list of possible other questions that are similar to the one you just asked. I'm not sure why people don't look at those because it would really clean this up by not having the same questions OVER AND OVER again. I do get tired of answering the same questions, I have a few text files with answers I have pre-written for questions I see that are the exact same as I have answered many times before.
You have a very good point about people being dumb, I'm not sure why this is so. I am an Computer Technician and I spend all of my time answering questions in the Computers & Internet category. I answer to the best of my ability.
In a way, this is almost like a search engine...you type in what you want to know and you get results. Personally, I use a search engine to search for something I want to know, but if I can't find it, I try here because there are real people here that might have experience with what I am wanting to know (and this is usually true). Yes, I have gotten very dumb answers, but I just mark them as bad and move on.
Personally, I think Yahoo! Answers is a very good thing...I have found out many things I could not find while searching with a search engine, and easily too!

I agree with you. (I still try and help people in my spare time).
Why don't you just stay the hell of the site if the questions drive you crazy. I find myself laughing until I cry with some of the questions people ask.
No one is beating you over the head to read or answer any of the same questions repeated over and over again.

Odd,
perhaps you asked a serious question and received a load of crap from people. It happens, it is life. There are a lot of young people and a lot of demented people that use this site. Hell, I evgen have seen people using it as a dating site because they don't have to pay for Yahoo Personals. lol! Either way man (or woman, or wo-persun if you are extremely liberal) take a chill pill. But it is funny to say the site should be on the tart carts and cheese busses.

Why do people who so obviously despise Yahoo Q's bother coming on and stating the bleeding obvious?
We've all seen the idiot questions, the ten paragraph wiki cut and paste replies, the semi literate gibberish and the deliberately offensive bigotry.
But sometimes, just sometimes, there are people who ask sensible, thought provoking questions, make amusing remarks
and generally offer a few hours of amusement.
Looking down at us from your Golden Tower of intellectualism and swingeing generalisations, why don't you have the basic common sense to
not
log
on.

I think people who write for advice just want to put "out there" the problems they have, sometimes just putting something down in writing makes one feel better.
As for the other questions...I dont know why people dont just do a internet search! It baffles me!

You are right. If someone wants to know how to do something, the least they could do, is spell correctly, so that we can understand what they are trying to ask? Good Point..
