my "in" predictions for fall 2007:
-late 80s fashions: overalls, volumonous hair (long teased hair, blunt bangs, hair metal look), neon colors, acid washed denim, high rise pants, colored denim (brown, orange, red, olive green).
- shaggy hair and hair gel for guys (remember the greasy look)
- early '70s fashions: wider-leg pants, plaids, suede boots, paisley prints, mod shirts, frilly skirts.
my "out" predictions:
- ballet flats
- ugg boots
- trucker caps
- polka dot fashions
- ripped jeans
- anything that has a skull on it (pirates of the carribean influenced this style)
- mod shades (think "bug eye" glasses)
- crocs
- military caps

Crocs, ballet flats, trucker caps, uggs and ripped jeans are already out.
I predict slim fit jeans - dark with a tapered leg and , tailored dressy suits. I agree with you about the frilly skirts. I expect padded shoulders to be in soon as well. As for shoes, I'd say thinner heels, maybe even stillettos.
