What kind of rock are the arches made of? What else is there special about this park?

Arches National Park is outside of Moab, Utah, in the east central part of the state. Wind and water formed the arches over many centuries of weather and water receding from the land. Sandstone is the predominant rock and is very vulnerable to erosion, which is why the arches were formed. Check out the website below from the National Park Service for brief descriptions of the geology.

I've been there numerous times and it's my favorite National Park in the U.S.!
