Nope just a passport your visa is on arrival, but try and walk quickly to immingration since the quenues can be long. You get duty free on the other side in immagration. You allowed 3 cans of beer, AND one litre of wine AND one bottle of spirits. It is best to get them since the price is expensive in Singapore. Places to visit is Clark and Boat Quay not far from each other but this is for the toursit so more pricy than other places.
You get a 30 day visa if you want more go on a ferry to Batam Indo or go across the causeway for a 30 day renewal, be sure to have the address your staying in. In Singapore it can be a hassle at immigration. Make sure your passport is in good quality not battered like mines or it is another delay.

British Citizens Do Require A Passport To Enter Singapore, (The same goes for all countries they wish to visit), Visa can be obtained upon arrival on the Singapore's Int'l Airport, however its advisible that you obtain your visa prior to departure, as its a long journey, and a longer Que @ the visa section.

No need to request visa in advance,
In the plane you need to fill in entry card which normally 99,99% will give you 30 day entry "visa" to Singapore for free.
Some other Asian countries only will get 14 day entry "visa".
When you want to stay longer before you entry visa is expired you need to request extention.
Do not overstay in Singapore as otherwise in future they will not allow you entry to SIngapore anymore and you can take the same flight home after enjoying Changi Airport for few hours.

You definitely need a passport but not a visa for a short stay. If you're staying a few months check it with your travel agent or ring your airline.

he will probably not opt for an entire blown Visa, yet he will favor to do the internet Visa waiver bit (See URL lower than) - actually that is like the repalcement for the former Visa waiver that replaced into surpassed out on the airplane.
