I did the same thing. Your baby will be just fine. They are more resiliant than we give them credit for. Alcohol Syndrome usually happens with prolonged alcohol use, not just a one-time deal, so not to worry....your cutie will be fine.

Well considering that most teen pregnancies were concieved on a night of extreme alcohol consumption I wouldn't worry too much. All you can do is control what you do from now on. Make sure your taking Materna or another prenatal vitamin. Since cereals and other foods we eat are already foritified with folic acid it's not a HUGE problem in the Americas. Make sure you see your doctor and explain your problem. He will probably do some blood tests to make sure your vitamin levels are ok. Good luck and don't stress about it too much. What's done is done! Just behave yourself for the next 9 months! Good luck and Merry Christmas!

I got drunk twice, took 2 flexoral (sp) for my bad back, smoked cigarettes and pot, had and x-ray and MRI (also for my back) all before I knew that I was pregnant. I literally flipped out when I found out how far I was thinking back to all of the things I had done wrong. My baby is doing great. All of her test have been excellent and she is progressing right on schedule. I have heard that it is hard to mess them up the first few months. If all of that didn't do it then drinking a little too much one night isn't going to hurt anything. Just think, a lot of people don't know that they are pregnant right away and do a lot worse then even I did. Stay healthy from here on out and your little on should be fine. Congrats and good luck!

Truthfully, these are questions best answered by your obstetrician. But I can tell you that back in the "olden" days, say 20 years ago and longer, there were no home pregnancy kits and lots of folks drank all the way through pregnancy because they didn't know it could affect the fetus. Yes, your baby may be at risk, but I'd guess that if you started right now to take care of yourself, the baby has a better than average chance of being just fine. But call for that doctor appointment to put your mind at rest.

it is very very unlikly that you harmed the baby at that stage. I had a similar experience with my third baby as i didn't know i was prego till 18 weeks because i had zero signs and i was worried about that fact that i had been drunk 3 times in those 4 months but my doctor asired me that it was pretty unlikely as long as you aren't doing it all the time and as long as it was fairly early on

Your baby should be fine, there are always risk, but make sure from now on that you dont drink do any drug or anything and if you smoke take it from me and quit. I never believed it caused premature birth but it does, my son was born at 33wks. He is has a very problems now but the Lord blessed me to keep him and he is 3yrs old now.

The baby should be okay.... you now know thatyou are pregnant, and you won't drink again right?
Have you gone to the doctors for your first appointment yet? Tell them what happened... you had no idea you were pregnant, or you wouldn't have drank! It happens to alot of people.....
And you need to start on prenatal vitamins!
Good luck!

It should be fine.. the same thing happened with my first, and second! We were on our honeymoon when I conceieved our first.. so we drank quite a bit that week. With my second.. it was my 21st birthday.. so again.. I drank quite a bit. You should be just fine.. the damage is done when mothers drink consistantly during the pregnancy. Studies have actually found it is safe for pregnant women to drink up to 4oz of red wine everyday of their pregnancy... although I would never suggest that or do it myself.
