my marriage was arranged when I was only 16, we been married almost 44 years but I never was happy and wouldn't want divorce because of the culture . although I try to do the best being a good wife and did a very good jobs of rise four kids, I also did very good on my career and I make lots of money being own houses, and I'm not a bad good looking woman, even so, my husband never appreciate what I did, but always get mad at me, so, please and please do not agree in arranged marriage, find some one you like and good and right to you.

I cannot say from personal experience bcz mine is a love marriage, but I can say from others' experiences. My parents' marriage is obviously a success bcz they have been together through thick and thin, and have been the best of friends.

On the other hand, I have seen very bad marriages too. I guess it depends a tiny bit on your luck too, and what your background is. Personally I was in favour of an arranged marriage, bcz I had more faith in my parents than myself. But then I fell in love.....

Love marriages are not always great; they often fail when people pretend to be someone they are not.

So, to answer your question, arranged marriages can be successful but NOT ALL would be. Similarly, love marriages can be successful but NOT ALL would be.

I think the stigma with a divorce is no longer as prominent as it used to be in Indian society, so if you are sure you annot work it out , better call it a day rather than drag along and feel miserable.

Oh, and one more thing, you said, " I hate ppl who say arranged marriages is good since they are loser in life .. they know that they'll never get person who will like them"

You never know..... love always comes when and from where you least expected it....

All the best

this is all gross
all the answer supporting arranged marriages are guys .. have look at them

Mr vishwanath .... poor guy he doesn't even know the spelling of "parents" want to talk abt arranged marriage ...he is completely insecure ... he needs parents for all small things .. see he can't even tell the spelling of "decide " properly ... guys like this are fit for arranged marriage but ladies these guys are always puppets in hands of their family .. wife has no significance wat so ever .. whatever conditions ...

if u call a marriage which last for all life without happiness as success then i would life imprisonment is also greatest success in man kind .. on the front arranged marriage is 100% successful .. if u wanna take the revenge on loved once then get her arranged married .. poor guy malayalee .. he will be heading no where in life ... i think ur not married .. yet ..

now at last bina ... whatever she thinks is u get great freedom of choice .. as if after engagement u have chance of breaking the marriage wat concept ... rarely can anyone say better then her .. all this is nonsense and pure imagination .. reality is very different .. if u dare live life and see open eyes and mind

Arranged marriages are fine for the people that want them, those people are the one's that are really sure that they want to have one
However, no parent should force their child in to marriage. It has to be every individuals choice. One can not say that a man is suitable for someone else because of their background after all, they dont have to live with the peron. There is a very true saying, you dont know a person until you have lived with them.
If it is you that is in a turmoil, I would say, stand back, do not marry until you are very very sure that ths is the person you would lay down your life for, will be faithful to, will treat as an equal, will stay no matter what and would like to grow old with. If you are not sure, then dont do it.

hi, i have seen even love marriages crumble ,till the time they r courting its fine once they are married there is always trouble in paradise.once u start living with the person u get to know the drawbacks.in arranged marriages parents give us a chance to choose according to our likes and mentality. it should not be a forced marriage.that's why first they get engaged so that they get to know each other little. in any relationship there is lot of compromise.at least if it dosent work u have both families support in arranged marriage .in love marriage parents dont like to interfere because its ur choice.all said its upto u how u r going to work it out in any marriage. good luck.

I think arranged marriage is something to be left as in back in the old days. I think marriage is based on love and knowing who and what are you getting yourself into. Marriage i a very long commitment and should be on someones choice. Maybe it worked in the 50' or so because it did work for my grandma, but we have a choice now..... Good luck with your decision.

Hi dear friend,

Love its a dream , Love its contract within a contract we have to prove to our self and the opposite side also after that we don't intensive growth at all,According to our generation you tell me how many arrange marriages are success and how many lovers happily enjoying their life with out their parents, Before marriage in love 100% they will enjoy etc but its not a marriage right.

Coming to arrange marriages our pare nets will discide and they think about our career and incase it will happened in our future they will take care and gain we have to chance to inform to our Parents , In love we dont have that chance.

Iam not telling LOVE is not Good but in love there is no growth, 75 % love marraiges are not succsesuful.

Thanx a lot dear friend.

worst of the worst is arranged marriage. I tell you what if you do that , you are not getting married with your wife(choice), but rather the choice of your father, mother or whomever helping make that arrangement. consequences don't show up until 2 or 3 years after.when you starts realizing that your "wife" was told thing about you that you really ain't, and when you start discovering that this is not the real one that you dreamed of, then your life is f/up. trust me on that, I went trough all that. I spent 2 years to get back my life together. don't ever, ever do that okk

Love marriages are the best. Just because the marriage is arranged, it doesn't mean you are going to be compatible with your mate. Besides, I wouldn't marry anyone that I couldn't choose myself.
