They wish to make it more topical and populist. Future programmes could even include specials on 'topics' such as 'WAGs'.

The BBC is amazingly dumbed down as it is. This doesn't surprise me. The BBC is just trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

A disgrace.

Panorama is a great programme that informs and exposes crooks, fraudsters and highlights miscarriages of justice. It is a serious programme that has been going for decades.

Why should it be reduced to the level of brain dread drivel, just to be 'popular'?

Yes, I know some will say 'have to keep it relevant to today' 'people it would attract viewers' - but why should have to de-evolve?

I think this is further example of the way some want to 'celebrate & reward' lack of intelligence.

No No NO ! Panorama is an excellent investigative programme and as such will have it's limitation on audience... but should be allowed to continue in it's current form.

When Jeremy 'I'm so nice' Vine on Radio 2 can have a discussion on banning handkerchiefs because the BBC don't like real discussion on the issues normal people are interested in then I am not really surprised.

Yes, they are making a mistake. The BBC screwed up by moving it to a Sunday night (from Monday after the news).

Everywhere you look, everything seems to be dumbed down. I don't know why, I find it rather patronising.

I didn't think that TV could get much dumber. I'm at the point where I am considering getting a large flat screen monitor to watch DVD's and have no TV receiver. The licence fee (tax) is just not worth the money.

Who cares? They're probably worried that audience figures are dropping, just like readership of the newspapers like the Mail, Express, Sun, Mirror etc.

If this is true, then it'll be another nail in the BBC's coffin. I'll just have to read a serious newspaper more often instead.
