Oh the best friend boy dilemma. (I had that happen, except she slept with him while I was seeing him, dropped them both like hot rocks)

Well it wasn't very honest of her to tell you she'd back off then make a play for him. Then again it wasn't very reasonable of you to tell her she needs to back off because you like him, it would have been better to say, well I like him too so why don't we both back off so it doesn't come between us, or alright free game may the best woman win. If I was you I'd go with the former, to avoid problems in the friendship.

Seriously other then the honesty part, I wouldn't have much of a problem with this. I mean I'd be disappointed that I didn't get him, but happy for her to have gotten him at the same time. There are other fish in the sea. My rule on calling boys is as follows,

'if I call then I expect my friends to back off so I can make the first move on him. If I don't make a play or he doesn't respond well then it's open season.'

Actually my close girlfriends & I developed that together. So I'd let this one go. But I'd watch your friend, she's not honest.

hard thing. You are best friend but like the same boy, my advice, well, as he said yes to her and now are daiting, leave it, i know you might be hurt cos you liked him and cos of wshe said she would back off but.. think about this.. wouldnt it be unfair if they both like each other and dont date cos a third person. You might be really hurt, but at least one of you got the boy ;). He doesnt like you and he would be daiting someone else.... whom better than al least yoy bbf????
You dont know what would come from this, future can suprise you.
Talk toyour friendexplain how you feel but dont be mad, cos there is nothing you can do about, make her understand that she was not acting 100 right when she told you she would back off, cos if she liked him, al least should have had been honest with you.
Boys come and go but friends are 4ever.

Guys are never worth it. My best friend and I have been inseparable for 15 years. She has done the exact same thing to me (with an ex, no less) but I am glad I stayed her friend. I haven't seen the guy in 5 years, and I have a wonderful friendship still. Its okay to be mad for a while, but friends stay unlike guys.

You waited. You lost. She isn't much of a friend. Find different friends.

You snooze, you loose. She took initiative and asked him out.....while you waited...............You shouldn't be mad at her, be mad at yourself.
