Be honest. Most staff despise liars.

If some of them ARE GOING TO LOSE THEIR JOBS, you must be honest about this as well.

Don't lie by saying that you are unsure if there will be cuts. Come out and say it honestly.

Don't give one speech to staff and another to management.

Again, you will be seen as a weasel and two-faced.

Don't secretly fire people and never allow them to say goodbye to their workmates. This is just cruel.

Pony up the money to pay for lunches and dinners honoring the people who are leaving. It is not their fault your shareholders are greedy.

Don't make them feel like scum with a bowl of chips and dip. Do right by them.

Gather the staff tell them honestly what the changes are and what is asked from them. Let them ask questions, be patient. If you do not know the answer promise to give an answer in a day or two. Promise to have an open door for complains after the changes take place and keep that promise.

Let them know ahead of time what they can expect. You'll likely get some resistance, as most people are resistant to change. There could be conflicts between the management and subordinates. There are several ways you can lessen this resistance such as educating them about what will happen before hand, letting them get involved with the change itself, and many other things.

Get the staff together all at the same time and make the announcement. That way no gossip or hurt feelings happen because everyone was treated the same.

Change of management is a reality. Just put it this way. Neither management nor the staff is indispensible, typical Indian way.

Give them some incentives n gifts.. it will create a positive mindset and remove all hostility. Encourage them as there are goin to do some camping trip sorta thing n it would be fun.

Email everyone of the change and announce a meeting. In the meeting explain why this change happened and how it will benefit everyone. Let everyone openly express themselves regarding this change.
