I have a few horror movies I really like, but I guess my all-time favorite will always be The Exorcist. There's just something about it that freaks me out to no end. The voices, the makeup... Bloody hell. Some other's that I like:

The Ring: I've seen it enough times that I don't jump anymore (much), but the first time I saw it? I didn't sleep right for a week. When that girl comes out of the television... Brrrrrr.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose: Makes all the symptoms of demonic possession totally plausible and medically rational. Horrifying. I feel like it could possibly happen to me, even though I'm an atheist.

A Nightmare on Elm Street: The original! That scene where Freddy's arms stretch across the width of the alley - so eerie. And when he pops out from behind a tree no thicker than a light pole! I still get freaked out when I walk past trees.

Halloween: Again, the original. That blank white mask, the stealth of having a completely cold-blooded killer watching you. Stalking you. Chilling.

Honorable mention: The Hitcher. A relentless cat and mouse game that will have you swear never to pick up a hitchhiker ever! And when that guy finds the finger in his fries?! Oh man! And one night I fell asleep while watching this, and woke up during a scene where Rutger Hauer was having a close up. I was convinced that he was watching me through the screen, and I was so terrified that I couldn't even move. I sat paralyzed until the scene changed and I was sure that it was just the movie!
