Is it possible you are using different DVD discs? Different discs will burn at different rates.

Also, if it is an external drive, do you have it plugged into a different USB port than before? If you had it plugged into a USB 2.0 port before and now have it plugged into a port that only supports USB 1.1, the transfer rate will be much slower than before.

Depends on what kind of DVD transcoder you are using to make the dvd. I suggest using CloneDVD2 with AnyDVD. Short and sweet. Makes copies really fast. The drive should be replaced with the Pioneer DVD-RW 111D. It only costs about thirty dollars and is real reliable. Sony has a history with their proprietary software and hardware. Don't forget good media as well like Verbatium. Try to stick with plus drives. Check out more on cdfreaks.com. Nero is good for playing, not so good for writing.

Might be your operating sistem, bugs, spyware and other stuff can slow down your computer, also slowing your buffer, also there could be a problem from the dvd-rw, except the posibility you didn't check your writing speed settings.

If you are using new discs it could be that the drive firmware does not recognize the disc as a 16x and is defaulting to 4x, or the program is not recognizing the disc. Try using DVD Decrypter and ImgBurn to read and write discs.

examine on the producer website in the adventure that they have got an improve firmware which will help DVD-R. If no longer and your burner dont help burning DVD-R in any respect there isn't any longer a lot you may do yet purchase yet another one. immediately somewhat DVD burner comes somewhat low-cost.

I would look for the write speed setting in the software. It sounds like it got switched to a slower speed.
