A folk band called The Spinners, based in liverpool, formed early 60's and were still going upto '89 sang maggie may.
Brilliant folk/skiffle band, excellent songs.

The Beatles have a short version on "Let It Be" but I wouldn't call them a skiffle group - I think maybe Lonnie Donnegan had a cleaned up version but considering the song is about a Lime St whore in Liverpool it was never a commercial success.
