Has the internet brought the world closer or divided it further into haves and have nots?
Has the technology created more relationships or created more distance in the ones that exist offline?
Do we ever critically evaluate technology or just blindly accept all advancement in it as 'progress'?
Sometimes I wonder if all this information is a good thing?
I wonder if the internet can open up the mind of a narrow minded person, can it cheer up a depressed person, can it teach a skill, can it be a substitute for lack of a friend circle in the offline world, can it replace the human touch, presence and eye to eye contact?
I live in a 'poor' country where people are trying to solve poverty through technology...I wonder if technology can really bring about social change...I wonder

it has created more relationships with people far away from oneself. but sadly, it has diminished relationships with those close to oneself.

My answer is yes. I think modern technology has changed a lot in our daily lives and the internet brought people closer to each other. But alas, only the ones who can afford the high cost of a computer are savoring the changes.
