Our government is spending millions of dollars on a war with no real solution ;our occupation in that country was unnessacary and still is .i have been against this war from the start , but the real kicker is the amount of money the U.S. spends annually could feed and clothe several forieng countries.
Further more before u agree (or disagree) you could be assisting too with that 300 hundred dollars spent on a digital camera or shoes you didnt need Christmas never mean mass media paints it to be. People say its not thier responsibilty but if not then whoes is it? They say i work and its mines all mines , but dont you think if the starving could find work they would. i my self am takin a stand to stop spending frivioulously and keeping all i have for my self because i realize giving a few bucks a month isnt enough. Every minute a child dies of starvation every minute another dies of AIDS related sicknesses just in Africa.
Dont cha think we have our priorities on the wrong thing

every year thousands of people die because of poverty. The government is less bothered to look after the death of thousands human. instead they are indulging in war in Iraq and spending all the money on war. people should togetherly act against the laws and rules of USA...everyonee should act against the crime held in poor countries. the major reason is spending millions of money to stop the crime instead they should spend this money for the poor people suffering from hunger.

The choice of going to war was not that of the American people, but of the leaders of this country.

The U.S. produces a surplus of foods that IS exported to other countries every year.

Those that are starving in other countries are the end result of the poor management practices of their politicians that control employment, food production, etc.

Go ahead. Take your stand. Stop spending frivolously and keep all you make for yourself. That's the American Way.

Oh, and by the way, Christ DID say in the Bible that the poor will always be with us. So there will always be an opportunity to give to the poor whenever your conscious bothers you, or "the holiday of giving" rolls around.

I totally agree, at home, we have a foster parents child from Senegal, before this one, we had one from Zaire (he is older than 18 now, so you can't support him anymore). My parents went to Romania some years ago to support people there with blankets, furniture,... and to give the children toys. I really like the fact that my parents do an effort to help poor people (an the environment) and I'll definitely do the same later on. I hope some other people will start thinking the same way one day, preferably today.

Of course they're wrong. But world peace isn't the answer, nor is it possible. Put it this way, could you stand yourself as a roomie? I know I'd hate to live with me. My point is this, if we can't live with ourselves, how can we expect to live in harmony with others. We can try, we can compromise, but peace? Nope. Have you ever tried to have 5 people decide on what movie to see? World Peace can't be... BUT, and this is a very big BUT... We have to try. Give in on the movie, hold a hand out to an enemy, feed the poor, do what you can. If you don't, we all fail.

Don't be so guilt-ridden! Even before WW I (when US had not ventured outside of this continent), people died of starvation and disease. It is not all our fault. Countries that realized power of capitalism, multiculturalism, secularism have and are finding their way to prosperity and moving out of the list of poor and starving. A good example is India and China. We can't feed the world for ever. They must learn to feed themselves.

Yes,but war is man's way of saying"Hey look,I'm
a dumb ape with no brain & I don't give a damn
about the generations that will come after me."

War and starvation are sadly part of the human condition.Greed perpetuates it all.

You ask very good questions but your arms suppliers need to sell the arms they make that's why your Government spend less on the poor and more on war
