Simple terms--- not so simple answer

'Charisma'

'Leader'

A "Really Charismatic" person can get them in the room and pack the halls with more interested people.
A "True Leader" can take whatever he has and manage it very well, usually very well spoken.

A Charismatic Leader can take a crowded room full of people and utilize them like the other two examples can only DREAM of doing. A room jam-packed with interested people and utilize everyone to their fullest capacity.

Of couse!
Very often leaders are not at all charasmatic.
For some it is a benefit - but most of the time unnessecary.
A leader simply must grasp a direction and have the courage to lead by example. People may follow another person out of respect, fear, confusion, belief, obedience, curiousity or accident.

A supremely charismatic person may have no desire to make decisions or infleunce others. But rather simply use the charm for self-serving purposes.

I believe the most important trait a leader can possess is confidence.
