We moved onto our block. There were only two black families. Within 4 years there was only four white families. This happened on every block in my town. All the white people were nice but they left none the less.

The first family to move out would be the previous owners of the house, I would assume. Does that mean they hate blacks?

Wow where do you get this stuff?

Of course everyone see's race, just some chose to discriminate against it and some don't

Me personally i live in a predominantly Muslim area and I am white, i see no problem with this as everyone seems to get along the majority of the time just like in any other area.

If anything I have seen more white families moving into this so called 'black area' than leaving, so what does this tell you?

It seems to me like you have stereotyped all white people because of the actions of some within one certain area.

I live in a very mixed neighborhood, black, white and bi-racial. The only reason people move around here is for normal reasons (bought a better house, found lower rent, closer to work etc) If a white family moves because black people move in, who is being hurt? Not the black family, they are being spared having to live near racist idiots and the white family are the ones putting themselves out and making their own life more difficult. As for me, I love diversity! :)

Don't generalize. That's the biggest problem between races today - using the word "all" referring to any group of people is wrong. All people don't feel a certain way. Everyone has opinions, ideas, likes, dislikes - things that make up the individual. If a family moves away, yes THAT family may have issues, but remember there are other people on that street of a different race who aren't going anywhere - but are ready to welcome new neighbors. Generalizations are killing any racial harmony that exists in this country today.

What do you mean all white people? I seriously doubt that all white people agree on anything.
It is true that there are some white people who couldn't tolerate living next to a black family, but I think that they are a small minority.
There are black families that I certainly wouldn't want to live next to, just as there are white families that I feel the same way about.
A dirtbag is a dirtbag, black or white.
I think you have a rather race-conscious perspective, don't you?

As far as the neighborhood is concerned it is just a very very common statistic in real estate that when black people start moving into a neighborhood the property values drop considerably. I can only guess that people start moving while their property values are still high. I think it has more to do with money than racism.

ummmmmmmmmm sounds like you are insecure about your race? I don't think their moving because of black families in the neighborhood.. Unless the families that just moved in are Violent and dangerous.. Other than that i dont think they would move because of color.. You have your own houses and you shouldn't even think Racism.. Live your life and if you feel they are racist just stay in your own yard and house...

So unless someone says something racist to you directly i wouldnt (assume)- RACISM..

By the way are you in the South?? Racism is mostly in The SOUTH where im from and even here its not what people really think...

Well, I don't know about that, but I do know that when my black friend moved to a predominantly white area the neighbours set up a neighbourhood watch. Not only that but my friend was followed home by police every day on her way back from school. That's just screwed up!

If the first people to move are the previous owners, then I am betting the second people that move is the family moving in.

Maybe they didn't move because the blacks moved in, maybe they moved because they don't like loud music at all hours, loud people, declining property values based on home and yard upkeep of a lot of blacks. If someone moves next to me I don't care what color they are as long as they act properly, don't expect to act ghetto in a subdivision and not see people move or call you out on it. A home is the single largest investment a person makes generally speaking and they don't do it to see property values decline. Thats not racist its a fact. Act like you belong there and there shouldn't be a problem. Not everything is racist like a lot of people on here like to believe.
