I have 40 GB computer but only 14 GB on C drive. When I'm trying to make a DVD computer dosen't allow it since it send input to C drive. I have even attempted to send signal to external hard drive but the program always sends imput to C drive.

You can't just 'move' them. You could uninstall the programs and then re-install them to the other drive.

The installs will always default to the C:/ drive, but if you select 'custom installation' it will let you change the installation directory.

You can install Windows (or whatever OS you use) onto your D drive, which would give you an option of which drive to boot from on startup, then just boot from D when you want to burn a DVD.

Personally I'd just buy a much bigger HDD.

ok do this tweak that will default ur path of program file to D:
go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
Specify the String Value of the path of the new directories. For common files change the setting of CommonFilesDir and for ProgramFiles change the path of ProgramFilesDir. All new software will goes there in future.

Do it carefully.
