Does anyone have any ideas what I can do for my birthday?

I am going to be 28 in January and wanted to do something different than just going to a bar. I want it to be unique with out breaking the bank. I live just outside New York City.

My suggestion would be to set a theme for the day. Here are some examples:

Spend the day at a spa pampering yourself. If your on a budget, find a local esthetician school and get cheaper services. If your really on a strict budget, pamper yourself all day long, do your nails, take a bath, deep condition your hair. Have a girls only slumber party. Wear slips, lingerie, robes, slippers or high heels all day.

Dress like a pirate and do pirate themed things for the day. Ask your close friends to do the same. Hunt for treasure, fish, watch bad pirate movies from the library.

Pretend that it is your prom day and dress in an evening gown all day. Go to a nice dinner then a ballroom dance or take one ballroom dance lesson. Then get laid in a hotel. (use birth control this time!)

Act like a (non annoying) child all day. Dress silly, go to the zoo, play in a playground, waste money in an arcade, rent a pony for petes sake.

Be a rock star! Dress like a rock star, wake up to liquor and drugs. Go to a concert that night to rock the night away dancing and drinking. Get a friend to take pictures of a photo shoot. Be rude to people and make them like it.

If anyone asks what your doing, or if they think it is stupid, all you have to do is say "It's my birthday, I can do anything I want!"

Have a friend of yours prepare a surprise birthday party. That party should begin with a scavenger hunt, and end with people hanging out at your place for a DVD or Nintendo or whatever you are into. That creates two tiers for types of friends, and it is essentially two parties.

The scavenger hunt can be cool. Make a list of items to find, but the type of item that can be found without you placing them. Let people be creative, and they take digital pictures of all the items. make sure to tell people to bring digital cameras. An example item "something that is red and fits into your pocket."

Why don't you go to times square or somewhere for new years. Get all your friends and thier friends together and tell them all you are celebrating your birthday on new years eve. That would be really cool, or rent a hotel room and have everyone cram into it and play drinking games and act like it's your 18th birthday.

Don't just go to a bar....go to many bars, like 5 or so. I'm sure you herd of a pub crawl. They are fun! Be sure to go to a few karaoke bars too. Its always fun to do a group song and have the entire bar join in.

I like picnics in the Park. Get somebody to bring a little hibachi, or rent an area with a ramada and grills.

You know you might see if you can rent a party barge. If you have a lot of friends you could spit the cost with everyone have your own party on the water!
