I agree mostly with sarge on this one. Sony has screwed the launch up so badly that many people (including myself) are pissed. I have always been a Playstation fan first, but this year I am buying a new 360.
I don't have a lot of faith in sony's first run gaming hardware anyway. Remember the ps2 launch (DISK READ ERROR ring any bells)? Or how about the psp and its dead pixel problem?
Sony manufacturing stinks and looks like it is not getting any better.
and don't even get me started on the wii. Once I turned 12, I grew tired of the same rehashed kiddy games Nintendo spews on a regular basis. But I have to give Nintendo credit, by introducing the new control type the have people waiting in line for hours to pay 250 dollars for a last generation console (no HD graphics, sound, quantity of content, or online browsing capabilities) and be happy about it; Genius.

Not knocking the PS3, but there are a couple of things that happened in the market to kind of "prejudice" people against the PS3. For starters, both Microsoft and Nintendo got their new game platforms out first, and in the case of Microsoft they really worked X-Box 360 Live HARD, so not only can people see and buy the new product, they can see what it is capable of through X-Box Live. There's a big difference between hearing about a new product and seeing it, especially in a market that is as competitive as video game systems. The other downfall of the PS3 is that Sony didn't meet its production goal of 500,000 units ready for sale by the Christmas shopping season -- last I heard, Sony was going to be lucky if they had 200,000 units in the stores before Christmas. This is just another major screw-up from a company that has already had one costly major screw-up this year -- remember the battery problems with the Sony laptops? -- and again, when such a huge projection is made and the company doesn't even come close to reaching it, the end result is that the new product gets a bad reputation.

Its nothing new, its got better graphics and that it. Oh and a few extra holes for memory cards. Xbox360 is a multimedia gaming machine. Because I have a 360 I save 20 bucks a month on TIVO!!! Can the PS3 save me 20 bucks a month? I dont think so! There is also no PS3 Live! People want to talk smack to each other while they shoot each other during Halo. oh thats the other reason no Halo on PS. And Xbox360 is a nexgen system buddy, PS3 is more powerful but its definatley not a better machine. Remember bigger isnt always better. Like the Wii which is small fun and cheap and while it isnt Hi-Def, I dont know how many of us have Hi def tv's anyways.

I don't hate it. I think it has the potential for better graphics than the 360, but you have to give it a chance to mature like the 360.

360 is still next gen because of the graphics/game capabilities. . .it's the first of the next gen systems. I don't think that everyone hates the PS3--in fact, it's incredibly popular, which is why people were shooting each other over them. Rather, people hate Sony for how badly they handled the system's launch.

graphics and memory aren't what makes a good game Nintendo make fantastic games, in my opion PS3 and Xbox360 are just the same games but with better graphics, and the graphics on PS2 and Xbox were okay any way right?

Clearly not everyone hates it. They sold out the first day they were put on the market. I prefer my 360 but that is just my personal preference.
