Anyone that uses racial slurs, or is predjudice is ignorant. We were all put on this earth for a purpose and I am sure that it was not to be discriminated against. People need to wake up and accept that the world is changing and accept everyone as a human being.

It was a brilliant publicity stunt.

How many times have you seen the name Michael Richards since this happened?

How often did you see the name Michael Richards BEFORE this happened?

Lovely.

You can't buy this kind of publicity.

Most rap artist use the word ***** in their lyrics/songs. Maybe as black people this is what we needed to see to wake up. Whether the word is in a song or used in a racist manner it is derogatory, insulting, degrading and deminishes who we are as a people and should never be used by anyone at anytime.

MMD is right it's all for the press

these are not regular people that do these things, these are performers, they do outrageous things for a reason.

The reason here??? The new Sienfeld DVD was coming out. Since all this press sales of the DVD are up 70% over the last season's DVD

Any press is good press.

I went on YouTube and watched the video of his rants, and I also watched his "apology" on Letterman. He said that he reacted that way because he was being heckled and just let loose. He was sorry that he did it and even went as far as to say that he cannot believe that he said those things, he doesn't use those words, nor does he even feel that way personally.
But if you watch his ranting video, he screamed/cussed/called names for around 5 minutes! When I get upset and say things that I don't mean, I will realize what I said immediately and apologize right then. Who goes on and on for 5 minutes saying things "they don't mean"?

He screwed up, whether his apology was sincere or not - he did apologize, time moves on now.

I think I'm ready to stop hearing about it. Seriously, it sucks that it happened for all parties involved. Now lets move on already. Dwelling in it isn't going to make it suddenly not have happened, it will just keep people angry, longer.

i think it was totally uncalled for, however, i don't think it was "intended"

obviously, he didn't go into that evening preparing to disrespect anyone. it wasn't part of his routine or anything.

just like anyone, sometimes you just blow up. from what i've heard, the heckling was going on during the entire show up until that point, and finally it was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

he totally blew up, and said some really ugly stuff that he should've kept to himself. it was completely uncalled for.

it was just very unlucky for him that someone managed to get the camera rolling just as he started his rant rather than document the entire situation from the start of his act. none of us truly know what happened or what lead up to it except for the audience that was present for the entire thing.

I think he needs anger management classes. He shouldn't have used the racial slurs at all, but besides that, he obviously doesn't know how to deal with hecklers.

I think that IF they were actually interrupting his show then he had a right to get upset and yell, but as far as the racist terms and words he used, he should not have said those things.

He crossed a line he will have a hard time crossing back. the terms he used were unacceptable no matter how mad he was. He says he doesn't feel that way personaly, but he must or he wouldn't have said them in the first place.
