I am having a 60th surprise birthday party for my Dad, I am looking for some cleaver ideas for decorations, music, poems, anything that makes a party more impressive !! Lets her your best ideas!

well I am doing a pictures on poster board all around the room, plus pictures in frames around the hall.. Anyone have a centerpiece idea?

For our parents 50th anniversary, my brother and I put together a DVD slide show of their life together. It was a big project, starting with pictures of them when they were dating.... births of children.... etc. It was 50 years of life together. The show is about 45 minutes long and not the kind of thing you show to everyone, but for a family celebration it is good.
My parents were very touched and moved when they saw it.
You might do one, starting with his earliest baby pictures and go through his life up to today.

Maybe work on a theme. like if he likes playing golf maybe do a whole golf theme going. Go with something he really enjoys doing in his spare time. That really works. I know I did a complete golf theme for my dad's 50th party & he really enjoyed it, even the cake was a golf bag & tee. So yeah go with something he really enjoys doing in his spare time (that normally relaxed everyone & makes atmospehre less tense).
Or another idea would be a time warp theme. Wher you could have pictures & memorbilia from the time he was born until the present day. Parties maybe when he was younger,school pictures,uni pics, video clips,wedding pictures,holiday pictures,pictures of his children or whatever. You could also do a short video of 'a walk down memory lane' showing a video of moments of his life
