i recently saw a show on tv. where they see how people react to someone using a phone in a public place. they saw when it was a guy someone told him to keep it down. but when it was a pretty girl no one told her anything they just let her talk away. i think that might be a good idea. good luck.

there can be many statistical surveys. Before using the topic, u shud try to find the economic viability of the survey and how it is goin to benefit the society. For example, a survey on ppl stock beers when they have newz of hurricane. Such a kind of result will help the beer manufacturers to act swiftly whenever they have any forecast of hurricane.

U can choose problem in our life like finding answers on the web or something more close to ur life. How many wallpapers are sold in USA daily, in which month it is sold the most, how the housing industry effect the wallpaper sales and then, u can make a prediction what will be the future of the wallpaper industry.

U can also do the survey in school canteen. What kind of foods are consumed the most, how the pattern changes with season , ,what are the market prices of food products in various seasons, what food shud be stocked in order to meet the demand and what shud be disposed as soon as possible. Then u can propose a model to improve the efficiency of school canteen.

If you are a sports fan, or if you are friends with some crazed sports nut, you could compare any of the stats from that game

Everything from looking at NFL.com for running stats on players and how people do against different match ups, to getting friends together in athletic competition, on which stats are kept.

This assignment could be a good excuse to get to gether with a group of buds and have some fun.

I did a fun one for a stats class years ago about how people perceived newpaper headlines based on the reputation of the newspaper. I took a random sampling of headlines from a variety of newspapers (from the NY Times to the Enquirer) and then asked people whether they believe the headline or not. For half the people I told them what paper it was from and for the other half I did not. I then compared the results.

Another fun one is a statistical analysis of whether or not toast is more likely to fall butter-side down or butter-side up.

If you wanted to do a qwik and ez experiment then you should make two people (from two different races) say the same thing to the same type of audience and see if they get totally different kinds of responses..

Flip a coin and see how many times it lands on heads...roll some dice and see what combinations you get and how frequently.
