Blending is a tricky business, you can easily get it wrong. Blnded oils take out the human error factor but their drawback is they are limited and not always what you want.
Blending your own is easy with practice and care. You can select your own base oils and put in exactly what you want for the problem you are dealing with....;

advantages r u dont have to buy the oils and then blend them all. some blends only need between 1-2 drops in blend. But i on the other hand prefer to buy the oils i use the most. make a blend up and use it. the fresher the blend the better. for example if i was to give my fiance a massage tonight. i would use 2 tablespoons full of base oil. 2 drops of lavender 2 drops of geranuim and 1 drop of palmarosa. Some oils mature and smell better with age like pathouli, i love the smell of it alot of ppl dont.

Pros: cheaper in the long run, quick and simple

Cons: you can't have fun mixing up your own fragrances. Quality of the oils may not be so good as if you brought them seperately, and it works out more expensive in the long run (particularly if you're just buying a lavender or citrus oil blend, for example).

well, it's cheaper on both sides of the coin - if you want just one massage oil, then you can buy it ready-made, but you can't always tell whether the oil itself is made with pure essential oils in it (some are synthetic, so look on the label), and whether it's from a reputable source. making them yourself is a good idea if you fancy making different bottles for different uses ie. sensual - ylang ylang, rose maroc and sandalwood, or muscle tension - geranium, clary sage and rosemary/or marjoram, or for relaxation - chamomile, lavendar and frankincense.. if you're stuck for ideas, then go onto the below site.. go and buy or borrow a book from the library, there's loads on aromatherapy..

Oils seem to help the body and lubricate skin and bones.
I dont see any disadvantages about it
