I say merry Christmas because that's how I was raised but different people in society are raised under different religions and cultures and that's what alot of people have to understand that thou some may use merry christmas everyone doesn't have the same beliefs and some may prefer other terms for this time of year for their own religion and culture so everyone must respect eachothers decision some choose happy holidays to my undertanding to include christmas and new years together since they are so close

I usually say Merry Christmas. For me, this is the CHRISTMAS season, and I want to celebrate it for all its worth. I do not however get offended if someone replies to me with their own special holiday greeting. What the season means to me is not the same for everyone, however as long as we are all getting along and showing goodwill toward each other then who cares if you say Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or anything at all.....

Well..I am a Christian so I say "Merry Christmas" but I do know that there are many other religions out there. I just could never switch to saying "Happy Holidays" because it is taking Christ out of Christmas but that is my own opinion.

I would say Merry Christmas, but now the so-called "appropriate" thing to do is say Happy Holidays, so it doesn't offend anybody, but whatever! Merry Christmas is how it's always been!
