I've noticed an interesting phenominon here in the LGBT subsection of Yahoo Answers.
You have all these anti gay racist men (some of whom pose as women) who come out with homophobic bile - much of which is also openly anti-Black racist as well.
I've got to ask this question - are these 'men' closet homosexuals?
If not, why are they going out of their way to communicate with open gays?
And why are their feelings about homosexuality so intense?
Should these homophobes just man up, quit pretending to be straight and come out of closet?
Wouldn't they be happier as open gays, instead of self-hating closet cases?

Good question Mr. G! and my answer is yes they are! I am gay and have been for 53 years came out when I was 8 years old, and in the 1960s that got you beat up a lot but I survived. now today with all my experience in relationships the ones who feel threatened by us (homophobes) are very afraid of who they are as gay men. yes they are GAY! and they are afraid of what the public will say about them if they were to say come out of the closet! I am single not by choice but I am proud of who god made me to be, and I don't care what others think of me about being gay. and I have a lot of straight friends who I am very loyal to, there is not a single one who is a homophobe and very comfortable in their sexuality just like me.

I don't think every homophobe is a closeted gay. I think homophobia stems from ignorance and brain washing of society. Christianity doesn't help the cause either by saying all homosexuals will burn in hell. I think it's ridiculous how cruel and ignorant some people can be.

I believe that those obsessed with posting in this category are in some way a closet case, but I do not believe that everyone who is "Straight" a gay waiting to come out.

I think some gay-basher types might be deeply-closeted self-repressed homosexuals themselves. Certainly it's possible. But I don't think I would say all or even "most" are, no. I think most of them are probably heterosexual; just closed-minded, ignorant types of people, bigoted about many different kinds of things (not just about homosexuals).

I seriously doubt all of them are closet cases, but some of them could very well be. Some are are just acting out their toxic cultural and/or religious programming. Some are straight but deeply insecure about their masculinity. All of them, however, are immature, unhappy, and deeply unfulfilled people with severe self-esteem issues.
