the majority of these people are very nice and polite. I even have a couple who live across the street from me and we exchange greetings all the time.

I'm from Germany, had been in India once and was married to an Indian.
My observation is, that India is a country of contradictions and extremes like very poor and wickedly rich people living face to face. Until today it is vibrated by spirituality.

Common people in Germany think of Indians either as Yogis, IT-profs, poor farmers or those who produce this entertaining Bollywood movies. Since mostly the educated kind of Indians manage to go "overseas", the impression is a rather positive one. The few who visited India apart from the 5 star hotels got a different opinion. Ayurvedic "wellness" is nearly a hype here. But for most India remains an unknown place far away, something where the fairy tales of 1001 night came from.

I'm not sure if you're talking about East Indians or Native Americans but I'm going to assume it's East Indians. I like them. I think they are very nice, polite, and attractive people. In fact I think some East Indian women are among the most attractive types of women in the world, personally.

I have known only a few Indians, but they have all been wonderful people as far as I knew them. One of my best friends is Indian and is the most intelligent and hardworking person I know. I'm sure that's not true for all Indians, people of every nationality can be intelligent or not, but that's just been my experience.

The opinions about the Indians are changing. They are viewed with respect generally. Indians are still to learn how to behave in the midst of foreigners.

Indian? dots or feathers? doesn't bother me either way as lang as they are decent people. The guy that runs the convenience store has always been cool to me had a great east Indian college professor, and native American Indians have some cool casino's.

I have travelled across the globe and found that Indians are liked in latin American, Libya, Most of African continent and Far-eastern counries except China, Most of Ex Soviet region. In western europe and to some extent in America the state is not good as the colour defference dominates. Specially the western europe is horrible.
