I know about the NETGEAR that all the netgear routers are compatible with TIVO , so you can purchase any netgear router

I use a Linksys 54G wireless router and I hard lined the ethernet cable to the Tivo box. Depending on what Tivo you get you may need a USB ethernet adapter to connect to your Tivo box. Or make sure you get one of the new Tivo boxes that comes with a Ethernet slot on the back of the Tivo. If you need the USB Ethernet adapter Linksys is the best but MAKE SURE you get the Version 1 adapter, Version 2 DOES NOT WORK. Go to www.dvrplayground to look for more info on seting up the networking for you model of Tivo..

Any router will work because any router will route ethernet traffic and that is all the Tivo needs. The more difficult part is finding a compatible USB ethernet adapter. Tivo uses most 802.11b only wireless adapters and very few 802.11b/g adapters. Since it is difficult to find one that works, I recommend buying a USB to ethernet adapter. This will be more reliable and faster.

I have a Netgear USB ethernet adapter. I think it cost me about $30.

You can find a compatibility list at http://www.tivocommunity.com.

Any router will work. If you want to hook it up via a wireless adapter I would go with the one that tivo sells. I've tried others that are suppose to work but they never do.
