I just heard some moron on the radio (the host) say it is a good idea to trade Chieng Ming Wang. Are there actually mongoloid Yankees fans out there that think this is a good idea??!?!? I am sick of this star worship of aging pichers i.e. Roger Clemens. When a pitcher reaches the late thirties, they should not be getting lofty contracts at the expense of young talent. I would take a young pitcher, especially a runner up to the Cy Young over old pitchers any day of the week. CASHMAN...DON'T SIGN ANY MORE OLD PITCHERS!!!!!!!

Trading Wang to hope to get Clemens would be very stupid. Wang is a great young pitcher, exactly what the Yankees need. Singing Clemens won't hurt the Yankees, but trading Wang would be a huge mistake.

It is worth noting that Wang was runner-up to an absolutely dominant pitcher Santana from Minnesota. What Santana did, lead the majors in wins, ERA, SO, and innings pitched, doesn't happen every season. On any normal year, Wang would have been a much closer contender for the Cy Young.

Also, as a Twins fan, we will trade a great veteran named Brad Radke for Wang straight up if you want.

Roger Clemens isn't just an older pitcher. He may very well be the greatest pitcher to have come along in the last 50 years. Personally I would rate Clemens in my top 5 pitchers of all time. As Craig S says, look at his ERA. Think of how many more games he would have won these past three seasons if he had played for a team that scored runs. (Prefably the Yankees)

I agree with you about young arms and I certainly would not trade away Wang. Even though his ERA is substantially higher he is yet to reach his full potential. I see no problem trying to land Clemens, if that's what Cashman wants to do. Of course the best of both worlds would be to keep Wang, which I think is a very safe bet and sign Roger.

I don't think the Yankees should deal Wang, but I'd rather have Clemens than him on my team. Clemens' ERA last year was 2.30, which is over a run better than Wang.

So why is it that people should "worship" Wang instead of Clemens? Wang has had one good year at age 26, the same age at which Clemens had already won two Cy Young Awards and an MVP. And he's still a better pitcher than Wang, at least in the short term. I think that signing him would help the Yankees, and they don't have to give up on Wang to do it.

A pitcher's age shouldn't matter if he's still effective, and Clemens remains one of the best in the game. To not sign a guy simply because of age is just stupid.

No way. To even suggest that he is overrated is silly. Consider this. he plays in NY, where the A-Rods and the Jeters ( high profiles like a celebrity) are. He had 19 wins in his sophmore season with the Yanks. Sure he doesn't get alot of strikeouts but he has proven he doesn't have to. To argue with the statement that he gets alot of support is a moot point, isn't that what a "team" is all about? He's stepped up, he's played under incredible pressure, he is an Ace and if anything, he's underrated not over.

Was it Chris aka Maddog on Mike and the Mad Dog? He was the one last year who criticized Cashman for beinging up Wang last year into the majors. He is also the host who got into an argument with Cashman over the signing of Lidle. He is very anti Yankees and very pro Mets. He loves to stir things up a bit

Don't worry. It isn't going to happen. Wang is the starter and the ace on this team. He isn't going anywhere.

The only way I'd trade Wang is if I was getting Ryan Howard and Cole Hammels in return. Other than that, no trade. Moving Wang, your most dependable starter last season would be as stupid as giving Carl Pavano a 3 year deal...

Don't get your underwear bunched up over this. Chen Ming Wang is not going anywhere. As of this moment he is the Ace of our staff. They can add as many arms as they want to but when it comes down to the season he's gonna get the ball every 5th day. Trust me on this one.

I hate the Yankees but this Yankee fan is dead on the money. Wang is the only real good young pitcher they have and to trade him away would be absolutely stupid.

I'm not a Yankees fan but I think trading away C-M-Wang is the stupidest thing they could do.
